Amateur indoor gardener/Hello!

Hello,

I've lurked a number of forums for quite a while, but haven't posted until now. So many of you have such beautiful, incredible collections, so I've been a bit nervous about introducing my immature, meager collection of bits and pieces that I've accumulated; a number of cacti and succulents, a couple of orchids, and a few tropicals. Everyone has to start somewhere, though! I don't have much of a green thumb, but I haven't killed too many plants (yet).

This euphorbia tirucalli is a favourite that I've had for about three years. I moved a few months ago, and he is now in front of a large, south-facing bay window (was previously in a south-facing window, but was the sun was partially obscured by another building), and is VERY happy - putting out all sorts of new branches.

As you stated, everyone starts somewhere. Despite the fact that I've been growing plants for a number of years, I only have about thirty plants total. Some of the folks on this forum have a couple hundred! Don't feel like your collection is meager, to some less is more (they'd rather have a few "good" ones than a huge collection; to each their own).

I'd like to see the rest of your collection (cacti, tropicals). I also grow houseplants.

Your Euphorbia looks huge and happy! I'm jealous. ;)

planto,30 or so houseplants is a fine number, I agree; the larger a collection, the harder it is to keep them in good condition and then all suffer; I love to see happy, healthy plants like that euphorbia,rosieroo, and in the case of indoor plants, less is often more. I would have about the same number of houseplants as you do, planto,and they keep me busy.

Thank you for the compliments, Planto and marguerite! I feel that I agree with the "less is more" mentality as well; while some people are very talented at managing large collections, and keeping them all happy/healthy, I do not think that I have the time or talent for it :)

I will take and post more pictures ASAP.

Thanks. :) I think I'd have a few more if I had the space, but I don't think I'll ever have a hundred lol. You're right. For me also, having too many makes caring for them suffer if you can't keep up. I've had "too many" before it became stressful. I know a few did suffer because I just couldn't keep up.

Of course. :) I have the time right now to have a big collection, but hope that won't be the case for too much longer. More power to those who can do it though, haha. I look forward to your pictures.
