etiolated opuntia

This pot was in low light for a while and the Opuntia microdasis v. rufida new growth got long and thin. Now that the light is better, the next round of "bunny ears" grow rounder and plumper.
Should I snap off all the etiolated segments, and of course, unfortunately the round ones on top with them, so the plant and its future growth can look good over time? I'll keep it under better light (2 T5s, close, at the very least) at all times from now on.
