I Award Myself an Iris For Keeping All My Limbs

Putting up the shade house - since summer came late, I don't want the plants to burn too much as I take them out later than usual. Today the structure was made, and I'm happy to report to you that drilling, sawing, fastening with power tools and whacking (non-jade type) with a hammer got me a genuine hinged house. I'm going to go unhinged if my plants don't start growing better.

In other news, Bursera fagaroides is also waking up. Waiti until I get a pic of the Operculycaria, too - it's flush with leaves. Summer's here...for a bit.

You can appreciate the fact that there was no expense spared in getting the finest joiners in the land.

Nice shadehouse, Jeff! I;ve been making do with a piece of shadecloth clipped to my greenhouse frame with clips form the dollar store...not nearly as nice looking as yours, but it works!
And nice irises too! Mine are just finished blooming here..

You just gotta do what ya gotta do to protect those precious babies, they'll love you for it.
Now if I told you what I have done in the past to protect things you'd think that old gal is nuts :).
