When to change the soil???

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if it matters when I repot my plants. I repotted some of them last year but I am wanting to get them into a grittier mix. They are currently in some off brand cacti & succulent mix with about 40% perlite. But I really want to get a grittier mix in there.

Also - I am currently in an apartment without outdoor space so they are in the sunniest window I got. But I will be moving soon into a new apartment with a balcony, so they will soon be transitioning into more sunlight. Most of my succulents are showing some good growth right now so I'm not too worried about it but would like to make sure they are good.

Also - while we are at it - what are your thoughts on pots that are glazed on the inside too? I have been looking for decorative pots that are glazed on the outside but not the inside but I haven't had much luck.

Thank you in advance for your tips and suggestions!
