Haworthia ID

I'm getting ready for our local C&S club show and sale. (We didn't have one last year, so I'm really pumped!!) I've had a few rough years (long story) and lost lots of tags. Thankfully, I have my photo site to find some IDs, but I have some I never posted photos of. This is one of those. Has the coarctata appeal - kind of makes me think of a cross between coarctata and Manda's hybrid. Very appealing, but WHAT is it? Should I just call it a Haworthia hybrid??

Hey Denise! Long time no see!

I believe you have Astroloba skinneri. It has gone by several names, so you might want to Google it to figure what is the current nomenclature. Good luck at the show!

RE: Haworthia ID

You nailed it, Ro! And howdy back atcha'! I don't get over here much - life is WAY too busy. Though I love what I do, I'm looking forward to retirement and hangin' out with my C&S buds more... You rock!

RE: Haworthia ID

A little tweaking on the name, Denise. I found my pix.

Originally, I had as xAstroworthia bicarinata or xAstroworthia skinneri (so brain wasn't clicking on all cylinders the other night).

In a previous forum post, I had it using the first name above & found this info as well: Bayer article says "Astroworthia bicarinata/skinneri is the hybrid H. pumila ¥ A. corrugata (muricata!)"

Yours is a nice, big plant! Let us know how you do in the show! =)

I look forward to seeing you here more when you retire (when will that be?). =D
