Cant really say that is a problem, for mines did the same and looked and grew perfectly healthy. Wet soil will cause rot though

It's normal. Plants that have no roots, or plants grown with very little water (same result), often develop more intense color. I would move this cutting out of full sun and into partial shade. I would also get it out of that mucky potting soil and into something that dries out within a week's time.

Try regular cactus soil :-)

No, NOT regular cactus soil (unless you add 50% perlite to that); pls. do a search here on mixes as there as a TON of info. on good mixes for Crassulas.

As Pirate Girl says, avoid cactus soils (because they're mostly peat-based). Better to mix coarse perlite, pumice, and other porous grit to make a rooting mix.

I have used them with wonderful results, even regular potting mix can work if you CAREFULLY monitor watering(or you are a neglectful waterer like me) ;-)

It doesn't get full sun it really only get direct sunlight in the afternoon as it is in the front of the house which gets sun as the it goes down. Its on a covered porch.
