Hi Denise. It is some sort of Sedum that RoRo will know. A lot of the little ones are quite cold tolerant.

Almost missed the bloom in the pic! I believe it is either Monanthes brachycaulon or pallens. Your friend can do a little research & decide! =)

I can't see the flower very clearly but it looks an awful lot like a plant I have called Echeveria prolifica. Then again I may be totally off base.

Very cool plant, I too almost missed the bloom if it hadn't been mentioned. Do you see that the top portion appears to be cresting? I would have guessed a Sedum of some sort, nice to see.
