Please help me identify this problem on my moon cactus!

I have dug up the soil a little this morning and I noticed there was this brown color on the base of my cactus. I was thinking it could be overwatering. However, it did not feel soft and mushy when I touched it. When I hold it up to the light, I could see that the inside of the cactus near the brown color is not opaque. It shows a light green color when I hold it up to the light. Is this something to be worried about?

How long have you had this moon cactus for? They don't generally live too long, and the top part seems to be changing colors as well, I am unsure if that's a bad thing or not though. But usually the top part would die first so I think your bottom cactus is fine.

I have had this cactus for about 10 months now. The top part started ti change to red when I gave it more sunlight.

Isn't that just where the soil line used to be?
