unknown succulent suffering

hello all -

about 4 months ago, i bought a bunch of these gorgeous green gems - they're quite large, the largest being about 18" across. i have no idea what they are.

3 months ago, i planted them in somewhat sandy soil, and covered the soil with decomposed granite. they are watered from an underground drip system about once a week. shortly after planting, they began to turn reddish and have continued to decline ever since.

i don't know if they're getting too much sun in their new location (they are on the east side of a house, so strong morning sun, afternoon shade from building) or if they are being overwatered.

any help would be most welcome. i'd like very much to save them if i can.

note this is the before picture, newly planted. i will post the current sorry state in a followup message.

This looks beautiful a beautiful echeveria. Do you have a picture of what they look like now with the reddish marks on them . It could just be natural sun stress, but morning sun is normally good with shade in the afternoons. Where are you in Ca. Inland, Coastal? How hot does it get there. How brutal is your sun? Do you like the reddish tinges?

OOPS, If this is an an aeonium and not a Echeveria, It is a winter grower and does not like intense heat. I don't grow aeoniums because of our Texas heat problems.

this is the current state - i have them planted near some echeveria which seem to be doing fine.

i am located very close to downtown los angeles, so the morning sun can be pretty intense. the red is ok, but not as nice as the vibrant green that they were. they had no labels on them when i got them. i'm afraid the plants won't survive - perhaps i just need to relocate them and plant something else in their place?

I believe this is Aeonium nobile. It looks perfectly fine! It could use more water if you'd rather it didn't color up so much. Nice, large specimen!
