Seems like a Gymnocalycium. Maybe someone can help with species name, if that is it. (Try checking online images for G. stenopleurum)

If you put the name, Gymnocalycium stenopleurum in a Google image search engine, you'll see some at the site for Dave's grdn. We are not allowed to link to it from here. There is one pic of a plant by rntx22 (with fading blooms & fruit) that looks similar to yours, but has more spines on the ribs than yours. Could be variable plant. Take a look.

yeah, I see the pix your talking about.
I think that to ID it need to be exactly the same...but I also know a group of seedlings will have slight variations. So which is it? A variation or a different cultivar?
