Aeonium Kiwi dying in front of me?

Hi all-

While inspecting my A. Kiwi yesterday I noticed its stem near the uppermost rosette was a dusty silver color (whereas it is green and then woody brown beneath it) and it couldn't be removed. I also noticed that there was a small hole above one of the leaves and later found and removed a small inch worm on the rosette. Are these two cases related? I can post a photo later today if that would help.

Hercule Poirot would say 'Oui, mon ami'. And so do I. I don't think it's threatened, but if you think it is, remove the affected piece.
