Echinopsis Maybe?

Well the flower looks like it is an Echinopsis and it has the wonderful fragrance of an Echinopsis, so does that mean it must be an Echinopsis? And if it is, any chance someone might be able to give me a species name unless you think it might be a hybrid? Thanks for looking...

Me, too, Howard. They have flowers with legs.

I think it looks like one too because of the flowers. It's a wonderful cactus. Here is a pic of my E. subdenudata, which unfortunately I killed several years ago (too much moisture).

Thanks Linda. I know for sure it is an Echinopsis but I don't know the species. I also know it is not Echinopsis subdenudata. Even thought the flowers are similar, the plant bodies are totally different.

here is my echinopsis that i bought from lowes about 4 years ago ... he was about a foot and a half tall (it was labeled pseudoechinopsis `dominos` dont know what that means) and always gave me beautiful smelling flowers every year .... but sadly i lost him to rot last winter ... after it rotted and i took out the rotted mess i noticed about 7 inches of cactus under the soil ... dont know why that was down there ... he also got a bad cut which made him quite skinny around the waist line ... lol ... this was my first cactus ... the one that got me into all this cactus business :P

All of your plants are very nice but I'd like to get back on track and try to ID the species of my plant pictured in the first group of pictures. I realize it might be a hybrid and therefor a name is impossible.

Do cactus just bloom when nature calls, like other plant?
That is assuming that they are healthy & treated well.
What about those of us in a colder climate like zone 8-4?

Lovely flowers, Howard -- but, alas, unable to aid you in your quest for an ID.
