What I did wrong

After months of watching my plants slowly die, I finely figured out what was wrong. It wasn't the weird weather of the winter as I had first thought. I had let them dry out too much! I had been watering, but did not realize that the water was draining through without wetting the soil. I took a plant out to repot, and it was dry as a bone even though I had just watered it. There must be too much organic matter in the soil even though they hadn't had that problem in the previous years. So I gave everybody some water-in, and everyone perked up! What a silly goose I've been for not checking for this problem earlier.
