It'll probably be fine. Allow the broken piece to callous over for about a week before potting it. Can you post any pictures of it?

You'll be fine. Let the broken piece dry for about a week then stick it in a pot and watch it grow. Cactus are awesome plants and are tough as nails (for the most part).
