It's sunburn, which is a temporary condition (those leaves will eventually be discarded anyway, but you can hasten the process). Yes, it's too much sun now for it, though it could eventually become used to it. I'd put it in mostly-shade (this Sedum doesn't mind it).

Often when we get them, the light conditions are different, usually less with covered overhangs, etc. at the nurseries.
Gradual, as in very slow, acclimation to higher light conditions, over the span of days to weeks can reduce this situation from happening.
