ID help

this isn't an aloe or an agave. It is in full sun now but when it was in more shade it had random spots about the size of a dime.

It appears to be a type of Rattlesnake Master aka Manfreda (perhaps M. maculosa if it had spots). Try googling "Manfreda" under images and see if you agree.
