Aloe help, please?

A couple of days ago, I noticed my aloe plant had one"mushy" leaf. I only water it, and my jade, once a week (sometimes longer between) so I don't believe it is drowning. The terra cotta pot it's in is just larger than a standard 4" terra cotta pot, with drainage holes and cacti/succulent potting mix from miracle grow. I have been meaning to put it in a larger pot (thinking 6"?) since this was the one it came in and it was already to large for it, in my opinion. So, I guess my question is twofold:
1. What could cause my mush leaf? It's a dark green, soft, and is now falling straight down over the edge of the pot.
2. Should I put in a larger pot?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I really like this guy and want to save him! Will try to post pic also!
