What a beautiful garden! I sure wish I could plant cacti outside. I tried putting my jade on the back porch. It was only out there a few days before it starting burning so I had to bring it back inside.

Nice pics.

Rian, superb Jade!

It looks to be a 'Hummel's Sunset,' and a particularly nice one!
The gardens are really coming together.
Thanks,

Josh

Thanks - the Jade, I guess is about 8 years, but its always been a lovely green potted plant, now that I gave it sun, its really showing its colours. Josh it may be 'hummel's sunset', I do love the tri-colour effect.

A somewhat off subject question... do some Cactus species planted outside in Africa go and start spreading naturally?

RE: Jade & Aloe

Yes & no ... Opuntia's are widespread on farms but its for a purpose. Most would be due to planted specimens in gardens - I took this pic in a field but not far from the farmhouse..

So I guess you may find some near towns or in open areas in towns. Agaves do occur all over and are with Jucca's very much used in gardens.
