Wet area

Hi. I live in coastal So. California. We get the marine layer / coastal fog quite often. I am thinking of planting cactus around the house. On those foggy mornings there is a drip line from the dew running off the roof. Not a lot of water but it will be wet. It always dries out by day's end.

Is this a bad place for cactus? I already bought an "Old Mexico" spineless opuntia.

Just likely a little additional moisture. It'd be a problem in Wales, say, but not where you are.

There a huge succulent nursery on PCH near, Pepperdine Uni called CosentinoâÂÂs Nursery. The ocean being across the road. That nursery has been growing cactus and succulents for decades. Your plants should be fine.

thanks for the responses. We just bought 1924 bungalow and are letting the lawn dry out to do a drought tolerant garden. I think I'll be doing a lot of fishing at this forum...
