tiger jaw propagation

My new tiger jaw had root rot so I cut off the part that was mushy & salvaged the leaves. I laid the leaves on top of my soil mix to dry but they all are wilting. I've done everything I can think of but nothing seems to be working.

Should I dip the ends in cinnamon & put them in the soil or should I let them stay on top of soil. Should I mist them? Maybe the leaves were not mature enough to propagate.
I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks.
