| Although you can find Aloe capitata v. cipinicola (as well as other varieties of Ol Cappy) at the Institute for Aloe Studies, methinks. Aloe suzannae is also available in the trade, too. |

| I have the KG hybrid "Fire Ranch" that has this as a parent with Aloe vaombe (if I remember right). You can see it here being upstaged by the A. cameroni. I have tried to grow it in the ground because the literature said it was hardy to Z7, Hahahahahahahaha. I have killed it three times but I saved a pup and took it inside for the big freeze we had a couple of years ago. I treat it as a tropical . It shows freeze damage at 28 . It has the clustering blooms that are somewhat reminiscent of this parent. The one I killed would bloom. I am hoping this decendant will bloom soon. I love the habitat shots of the Aloe capitata cipinacola. I was not aware that it developed a trunk and got so tall. Yum, things that I have to look forward to. I guess the A. capitata var Capitata does the same.

It's getting a little steamy in here... almost too much to handle this early in the morning. I'm envisioning myself in a huge greenhouse filled with every type of Aloe and I'm floating around like a bee. |

| only about 4-5 of those species on that link are hard to find, with a few being nearly impossible. The rest are pretty easy to obtain. |

| I have a bunch of these Malagasy aloes. It does take a while to track some of them down (or to get around to obtaining them), and I'm running out of space. Also, I have to manage the goodwill of my spouse. I do wonder how much I really need Aloe droseroides. I saw a small Aloe castillonae on the sales tables at Inter-City Show & Sale in Southern California last week. I think it wss $100. I left it on the table, gingerly. |
