I'm fairly certain this is an Echeveria. It looks just like another I have, only smaller & paler. (So I guess that's not really "just like" it!) Anyway, I'm attaching a picture comparing the two.

I'm trying to decide on a pot for a collage of Echeveria. They're shallow-rooted, correct?

I also got a new P nelii, which I'm not convinced isn't actually P bolusii in disguise.

And there's the desert rose. I'd like to try to bonsai this. I'll post in that forum as well.

And the Bonsai forum is pretty slow. I suspect I won't get many replies there. I'm going to keep seeking other sources of information. I'm not even sure that what I think is an interesting trunk really is! ;)

The first is Aloe 'Pepe'. There is good reason you think it is a Haw...one of the parents is Aloe haworthioides.

The large plant in the comparison does look like an Ech, and perhaps is a hybrid of Echeveria agavoides. The smaller pale plant looks more like a Sempervivum to me. Does it have cilia (hair) on the leaf edges?

Looks like Pleiospilos nelii to me.

I know nothing about bonsai. I am happy if my plants live. No way I could train them to do anything! :P Although (lately) I'm beginning to believe I HAVE taught them to roll over & die! :D

You've rescued me from misidentification again, rose! Thank you. It does, indeed, have tiny (short & fine) hairs. I tried just now to snap a picture of the cilia, but it didn't turn out.

I also noticed that the new aloe is somewhat promiscuous. There are a few pups popping out.

I have resolved that I am NOT going to buy any new plants this week. We'll see. I also told myself this morning that I wasn't going to eat dark chocolate chunks from Trader Joe's until my stomach hurt, but that didn't work out!
