Silver Dollar Jade Rot Question

gstory

I am somewhat new to succulents and am not sure what to do here. I have had the silver dollar jade in the picture for about a year with no issues. I heard that when plants are experiencing lots of new growth that you should increase watering. I guess that's not the case with this plant since I'm pretty sure over watering caused it. I'm not sure what I should do because I do not want to compromise all the new growth near it. Should I just let that one rotting piece finish till its done because the rot won't spread to the new growth? Or should I cut the rotting part off to save the new growth?

Thanks for the help!!!
