I visited the local botanical garden and saw some amazing plants in their desert room that I thought others might like to see, including this giant blooming tree-like Euphorbia (I forget which species).

Close-up of a really pretty crown of thorns plant (probably 3-4 feet tall, but I couldn't get a good pic of the whole plant)

The first plant pictured is a Pachypodium, not a Euphorb.

The plants look great - someone's taking care of that garden.

Thanks for the correction cactusmcharris, there were a lot of name tags about and I must have seized on the wrong one!

The gardeners at Phipps are real masters, every plant in every room would be a showcase specimen almost anywhere else. I'd recommend the trip to anyone passing through Pittsburgh, even when the Titan arum is not blooming ;)
