Baby flying high on Haworthia attenuata

This succulent always gets a really long flower stem, more than a couple feet long and I have always cut it off when the flowers fade, but this time around, I decided to cut only half the stem just to see what happens, if anything.

Then one day I noticed what looked like little pointed leaves, oh wow, it's a baby Haworthia growing right at the cut point.

I must say I was quite surprised because I didn't know that this was how this plant propagated itself! I have a new baby Haworthia growing in the air!

When I think of all the babies I unknowingly cut off!

Will this baby grow lots of aerial roots?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks,

Billy Rae
