Landscape planting

So far, all of my succulents are in pots. I would like to plant my back yard in succulents. I live in Sacramento, CA, in Zone 9. I realize some may not survive a hard frost, but I am more worried about winter rains, especially. Any advice? P.S. This is my first posting, so not sure I have this all figured out yet.

There are hardier succulents. As to rains, you can use raised beds or build small berms for better drainage, or plant under the (hopefully wide) eaves of your home to keep plants drier. Check to see if there is a local Cactus-succulent club in your area for suggestions on plants. Local experience is always helpful.
