Tell us what you tried already to root the leaves. Perhaps you tried it the wrong time of the year, I need to know what you have tried to find out if you even did anything wrong ? ? ? If you are lucky it just may offset for you, look under the leaves on the bottom, and see if any roots are forming on the stem. My Echeviera are now putting out roots at this time. I think this may be the season to start them, or the first of October. Norma

Just a gut feeling, but something says Sedum to me.

Seems too tight a rosette for an Ech, I have a no ID Sedum of which this reminds me. Any chance of hybrids btwn Sedums & Echeverias (esp. since they're both Crassulacae)?

It's x Graptoveria amethorum, a hybrid by Myron Kimnach. I believe the parentage is Graptopetalum amethystinum x Echeveria purpusorum. It's a slow grower for me, too!

x Graptoveria amethorum! That is the name I couldn't recall! I did rememebr that it was part E. purpusorum, which is another plant I have and like very much. It seems to be as slow growing as the x Graptoveria amethorum.

Norma, I have taken a few leaves from this plant, let them callous over and left them on top of some well-drained C& S soil, as I have done successfully for many other Echeverias, Grassulas, and Graptos, but the leaves form this plant just shrivel. I haben't tried really hard, just a few times. The plant is so slow growing I don't want to remove many leaves.

Had the same experience trying to propagate. I finally let myself steal a leaf and followed the usual methods, but it did the shrivel on my, too. :\
