Yup, it is, specifically the Platyopuntia subtribe (but you knew that already).

I've never seen such extreme offsetting, so it must have been in rather unfavourable conditions to put forth such odd growth (normally it's be a pad or two - that looks like it's changing its morphology from a pad Opuntia to a cholla type).

Try not to touch it (because of the glochids) but if you give it regular succulent care (if there is such a thing) it will be fine. It is a voracious grower.

Thanks for the confirmation Jeff,..had my suspicions but seriously man,I see a cactus and I say "hey look...there's a cactus!" and thats about as much as I will have to say about it. LOL

My Opuntia thanks you from the bottom of her roots(which were considerably more than I expected).
