| Anyone kept Astrophytum asterias. I find them to be one of the most beautiful cactus around.

Beautiful plant you got there. I love the fuzzy flecks its got I have one, but the bottom is a bit squished in. I dont know why... i checked the roots and everything, and they are nice. I prefer its relative Astrophytum capricorne. I love the spines, and the large flowers on it. |

| I just got it about two months ago, hope it will grow well at my place. This one has large flower too that is if I can get it to bloom. |

| Just got it in July and this is the first time it's going to bloom. I guess the colour will be yellow. I hope in bloom on a weekend else I have no chance to see it. |

| Nice cactus. One could take it to work and put it on your desk,... if you work at a desk. |

| Mine bloomed in September just for a couple of days. Big flowers indeed! This is astrophytum asteria cv. superkabuto. |

| May I know if the cactus is self-fertile or does it need another plant to pollinate? |

| You need male and female to pollinate astrophytums. |

| Wasn't around when the flower opened in the afternoon but managed to take a picture just now at about 8pm.

| Beautiful! It might open up more day two and three. Now you need a few more astros to get pollination :) |

| Unfortunately I only have one of this. There are no nurseries selling this over here. I got this when I was on a vacation to Bangkok. |
