White fuzz on cactus

Hi all, there is white fuzz on my little cactus... should I pick it off or leave ot alone?

Oh wow really?! I have no idea how it grows haha
It's growth of just the spikes then? The plant itself just seemed to swell (grow) previously

Yes, that's just what the glochids look like when emerging. A helpful thing to realize about cactus is that they generally grow in the summer, while most of the plants surrounding it do the opposite.

No glochids on this one. Glochids are only on Opuntioids and thier kin. This one looks like some kind of Notocactus. The white is probably a flower bud emerging.

Nice yeah i think this is a flower coming out as well! (by the title I thought mealy bugs, but lucky for you no!)

oh, sorry. I get my cactus terminology mixed up sometimes.
