It looks like an Echinocereus to me. Perhaps a variety of E. pectinatus. Are the spines pink, or is that just because of the lighting? Do you grow this as a houseplant? Does your pot have a drainage hole? (it should) Have you ever seen it flower?

Oh, I'll check out Echinocereus. Thanks for the lead. No the spines aren't pink- mostly brown. Yeah I drilled two drainage holes in that pot. No I can't get my cacti to flower, been at it for decades but that's mostly because they're all indoors. Some I keep in a cheap plastic greenhouse in my living room but this one I just have on the windowsill.

yup I checked resmariero- you were right about Echinocereus. Might be a Exhinocereus acifer tubiflores without the DNA that causes pink on the upper spines.

Well it's definently an Echinocereus. I just clicked on some picture on some website and came up with that name. You're probably right about the name but I don't notice any pink on mine. Could just be lacking in pigmentation or something.
