My Epi keeps blooming none stop, I love its beautiful large, pure white flower, but I don't think I really care for its scent... my nose is not very picky...I general like most of flower scents. But my Epi. seems have very strong, and dusty scent mixed with a bit alcohol... Is it because my nose? is it because of this particular variety of Epi? or is it the universal scent of night bloom Epi.?

I don't know...I LOVE the smell of my E. oxypetalum. I am not good at describing but dusty and alcohol would not be something that I would think to use. I just want to roll in it like a dog in sh-t. I want to surround myself and wrap my my body in it and sleep.

I was going to have a 45 bloom flush on my plant last night and the deer found it and ate all but 5 buds the night before. The buds had already turned their heads up and stated to swell. I was so p---ed off. I am out looking to buy a hunting rifle today..

I was given a cutting of E. oxypetalum a couple of years ago but my plant has yet to bloom for me so I'm a little envious of you guys. I grew both Cryptocereus anthonyanus and Epiphyllum anguliger until one fall I didn't get them back in the greenhouse soon enough:(. These two used to start setting buds the end of september outside where they lived from spring through summer and into fall, they bloomed though out the fall and into winter in the greenhouse, their scent to me was reminiscent of hawthorn flowers. Does anyone know where I can buy either of these two or both, I've been looking but so far no luck. Annette
