Aloe Q

I have recently gotten into aloes and I have been browsing ebay for some unique ones. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of aloes these are. The seller has identified them as hybrids but I haven't seen anything like them before. Thanks for any ID/info on these. It will help me decide if I want to buy them or not.

They both look like differing versions of the same plant, Aloe descoingsii, a small species from Madagascar. I'm not sure that they're hybrids. AFAAG (as far as Aloes go), they're about the smallest, so there's the whole size issue, if size is an issue, to go by.

Thank you for the ID!

Search gardenweb for "long aloe walk 2" by lzrddr.I was hooked after I found his pages. Next, research Mesa Gardens. I have bought seeds and "starter" plants from him at very inexpensive prices and am happy with the results. The way I figure it, lzrddr's page has cost me a couple hundred dollars and I wouldn't have it any other way.

robin,

You've not yet been to the Institute for Aloe Studies? Get several more score of 20-dollar bills and support an Aloeicious Earth.

You're quite right about Geoff (lzddr) and his Aloe compendiums - they're prompts for lots of oohs and ahhhs.

I can guarantue these hybrids are well worth bidding on....... I imported quite a few from Rennie a couple of years ago.. you may find they were originally hybridised by Dick Wright....

xericgrowers, com one can get the Kelly Griffen Hybred aloes straight from the master himself and I think one should always support those whoes hands and research developed the strain.

Aridlands has inexpensive aloes

I find a lot of KG aloes out in the nurseies.

Thanks Cactusmcharris for the info. Checking my Dave Ramsey budget to see what I have to spend and then I'm off to the new website you suggested.
