Walmart sale - hurry

My local Walmart ('New' Harbor Mall) in Fall River, Mass. is having a clearing of its cacti supply. 5 for $5. Pretty good specimens. I'd buy them, but I'm into growing them by seed.

My local Walmart keeps them in the darkest spot in the store until they die and then throws them out. Never a price reduction. (Not exaggerating)

Some of the local Wall Marts are having clearance sales to make room for Xmas stuff. Not all stores are doing this just some. 50% or more off all plants including cacti & succulents.

I got a bunch last week, they are not clearance stuff, but all new from Canadian nursery. They were priced $1 and $2 each. Got some nice lithops for $1 each, haworthias, big mamillaria and barrel cactus, nice crassula and big echeverias. Can't beat that price.

Gorgeous tootwisc!
I bought the three for six ($) they are the larger ones and I put them in a pebble filled tray as well. Im hoping they do well all winter. I had three others outside that I had bought earlier in the season.

The big question is...should I go back and spend $15 or $20 and have a much larger collection then I have now?

I am actively involved in our senior center. Could this be a fund raiser for us. I could spend $50 today. Have some little old ladies get involved with growing little cacti into bigger ones and sell them for...let's say $5. Would this be worth $200.....should I spend $200 and turn it into $1000.

Why are these little cacti so cheap!!!

I succumbed and bought two of the 3 for $6.00 myself. One is a pachypodium and the other looks like a jade. The little harbor freight greenhouse is in danger of bursting open.

I got several and one is a VARIEGATED Madagascar palm about a foot high - just GORGEOUS!

I was so excited about my new purchase that I brought my little garden to work with me-an assisted living facility. Several of my residents whispered that it's cute how excited I can get over little things like a few plants.

Isn't it great that a few plants can bring us so much happiness. I certainly did not see a madagascar palm...should I take a road trip to another walmart?

I have three WM within 5 miles of my home and they all had them - you might check outside your area WM.

Kayjones, I've never seen variegated Madagascar palm. Can you post picture. No pachypodiums at our Walmarts here.
