Opuntia species, but I don't know which one. None of it is poisonous - while I don't know if the skinned paddles (nopales) are delicious (they often are, especially the younger ones) the fruit (tunas) should be OK if not positively tasty.

My DH does not skin them these look like the thornless.
He dices then either sautés or parboil he then adds them to eggs,
beans, or anything hot and spicy. He really likes to add them to
lentils. They really don't have much of a flavor and not a favorite
of mine. Our goats absolutely love them! Uncooked of course.

Can you say where this plant is located? State and zone?

If mostly spineless, it could be Opuntia cacanapa 'Ellisiana'.

I'm jealous! Nopales is one of my favorite things to eat with scrambled eggs or in bean burritos!
