So many succulent Asclepiads look alike that the only way to get a positive ID on them is when they flower. Names are good, but nothing confirms many of these nearly-identical plants but flowering. Assuming it grows well beginning again in the spring, I'd think it would flower next year.

Yes, you'll have to wait for blooms, as Jeff said. Wild guess now from me is Stapelia gigantea...which remains to be confirmed. =)

S. gigantea = the most popular and widely-grown succulent, excepting Hoyas, Asclepiad ever (?).

A gigantea would be pretty cool, but I'll probably have to wait until it blooms to know for sure. Ahh, what my apartment would smell like with one of those around... :P

cactusmcharris: Do you think it's in dormancy? I haven't been seeing too much growth right now.

Staps like it are most active in later spring/summer/early fall, IME, but if you provide them light, warmth and some water I suspect they're, like so many other succulents (both Asclep and not), opportunistic growers. When I did grow them (outside in San Diego), I certainly backed off on the watering in the winter. Certainly some of these definitely want almost no winter water, otherwise they turn into a succulent mess (I'm looking at you, Caralumma socotrana).
