Well, we had our first frost last night. Hubby and I went to Wally World (Walmart) and picked up a baker's rack to put my plants on. I had tried to put off buying the rack as long as I could and the frost was just light last night so, I probably didn't really need it just yet. However, the weather reminded me that the time to bring the majority of my plants in is drawing near. The rack was bought for $34 and I bought the rubber drawer liner to put on the shelves them self (in retrospect plywood would work a lot better but hindsight is 20/20). It fits all of my plants perfectly! It's sitting in the front office that has a full glass door that we never use to come in and out. The whole door is facing the south and the office usually stays nice and warm because it's so small. I hope this space does well for my plants this winter!

| It's not ideal but it's what I have to work with. I have two children ages 1 and 3. The only other South facing window is in the living room where they have access. So, until they get a bit older and understand not to touch, mess with or put my plants in their mouths, this will have to suffice. My husband wasn't happy about my plants taking over the office at first but I assured him that I wouldn't take up too much space and if he didn't let me bring them in they would die and we would have to spend $$ to get more. So, it saves him money HAHAHAHA. I think I've started to convert him though. When I've learned any interesting fact about one of my plants I always tell him and he actually told me last night he's 'kinda getting interested more'. HAHAHA |
