Very nice plant amazing maybe a cereus Peruvians or it could be a euphorbia (not a cactus) can you take a closer pic

If this is a Cereus peruvianus (which it very well could be) the usual methods of growing cactus would apply to this specimen (well-drained soil, lots of light and warmth, etc.)

You should be aware that if this is a specimen of that species, it might get quite a bit larger than it is now. Also, Cereus peruvianus are fast growers, especially in the right conditions.

I see no problem in removing the sticks that are tied to it, but I defer to anyone that may know of any problems with doing so.

Definitely a Euphorbia. I am no expert on this group of plants aside from having killed a bunch when I first started growing succulents. I stick with cacti so I can maintain the size of my collection(somewhat).
It is a nice looking plant though!!

Indeed definitely NOT a cactus, and definitely a Euphorbia⦠Euphorbia trigona most likely.
