Mine just bloomed also. 1st. time on this one. Gift from 'johnsonm08' GW May 2012. A little darker than my other one purchased as Stapelia flavoristris but too simular to be anything else. I didn't notice any smell. Maybe next time around but even my others, no flys or nothing. I didn't stick my nose right inside but a foot away, nothing! I am a little suprised. I know my Orbea ones has flowers of critus and sweetness but again, I noticed nothing. I have no trouble smelling my dog or fish tank so I think my nose is working.

My Stapelia flavoristris, which may very well be S. hirsuta. This one bloomed for first time last October just before bring in. This year, bloomed many times starting mid Sept.
Hirsuta suposed to mean harry. Flavoristris is a syn. of grandiflora, which I think adds to the confusion.

They are SOOO beautiful!!! I haven't seen this kind in ANY greenhouse in my area.......yet. :(
