prickly pear cactus, propagating confusion.

Hi all, I have read to water cactus daily when propagating.
Then I have read not to water when propagating.

I have a lot of pads I want to propagate, HELP!!!!!
Which is right?

Do not water until roots have developed, at which time you will also probably see some top growth. Watering before roots are formed can lead to rot. Simple formula is, no roots, no water.

Good rule, no roots no water. The pads have all they need to form roots. just add light and soil.
