How dry are you. That is a big issue. A utahensis is really cold hardy but add water into the mix and watch out. They will then get Athracnose easily. Drainage is critical with many. Agave lophantha is pretty bullet proof. Agave parry is grown in OKC by a friend. They get 116 - 0. I have had A. striata down to 12 without a blip. They are caucus on some on this list.

The species hardiness will vary as to the conditions of where the seed comes from. Some people will spend the energy to climb high on the mountain to get hardier species. I have heard some mention that A ovatifolia survived 5f , but I do not know if that is true. I just heard it. I have kille d agaves because of hearsay. The other thing is that Agaves take a couple years to develop hardiness

It all depends on were the seed was collected too. I have agave ovatifolia survive 0 degrees and 18" of snow while my largest from yuccado perished. Havardiana has been bullet proof for me as well as parryi var parryi. Victoria-Reginea has done great loves moisture too. It stays small enough that I can cover it with a plastic tote during large snow events. I have had poor luck with salimiana, and neomexicana. Last winter wiped out several long time agaves like striata, lophantha, and killed protoamericanas to the ground( all are coming back).
