Here is some of mine. It was purchased as Stapelia 'Carrion Plant'. It showed a picture the same as yours. It never bloomed so I can't be sure. I saw a picture of Stapelia Grandiflora Variagata that looked Identical. Have to look up S. Orbea. Also the stems are a much lighter color than my others and some almsot white.

What to feed stapeliad? Can't wait to get mine grow bigger and bloom.

I bought 8 different species from CSSS, they are getting smaller and look unhappy. Only Gigantea grows plenty stems and happy.

    Thx.

Stush, your dark red blooming plant may be a form of Huernia schneideriana.

The one named Orbea variegata used to be called Stapelia variegata. Stapelia grandiflora is a different plant (& would not have "variegata" tacked on the end). Carrion plant is the common name used for many stapeliads -many genus- so isn't a help in determining ID on these.

PIO, I'm interested in seeing your red blooms as well.

Thanks, Rosemarie but I think I'm going to miss them. Leaving in the morning until Monday. I hardly ever go anywhere, can't believe that. DH can keep an eye on it if I remember to ask him... Pics of the last time it bloomed are in here though.

Don't know about inside, but it wasn't at all noticeable outside - the smell I mean - from one flower of this type being open at a time on such a small plant. If I put my nose near it to sniff purposely, definitely not pleasant but not as strong as Gynura.

Wrong expectations about when this would open, which is today! (Trip was cancelled anyway.) No, there's no scent, at this hour.

Very cute Orbea. I'm waiting while Howard masters his methods on the Stapelia family. Then I'll go shopping at "Chateau Bikerdoc's". heh

Oh, soooo pretty with all these blooms!

Paul, you are so funny! Too bad I don't live close to you both...hahahaha! If I did, I would shop at both places with my pruning shears.
