I was getting ready to ask a similar question. I've taken cuttings from my orchid cactus and the cuttings are doing better than the parent plant. I can't throw away any plants though, so I decided to bring mine in and hopefully have it do better next year.

I'd bring yours in as well, but yours looks much healthier than mine does so perhaps that has something to do with it.

Same thing happened with mine though, the new growth just sort of stopped before it should have. The new growth is also more spindly. Older growth isn't firm, and kind of wrinkly. I'm so sad because it was passed down to me by my great-great grandma, and so far it hates me lol.

What kind of epiphyte do you have? I love the purple!

I would save it. And would remove the other plant in there with it. Looks like it might be too wet and cold.

I always have a hard time tossing any of my plants, especially hard to throw away cuttings when I trim the plants.

pirate_girl it's an orchid cactus. The 'other plant' is a weed of some sort. I thought the pic was obvious (especially in this forum) but I will for sure pick out that weed when I take it inside. The next pic you see of this plant will be the witherey purple stems.
