stapelia and mealy bugs, help

So I have a stapelia in a hanging pot and I have recently found what I think are mealy bugs. They look like small fuzzy rollie pollies? I think they are feasting on the young stems and buds and causing the plant not to flower. What can I do to get rid of them? I hand picked two off... which is gross. And what other factors would prevent my stapelia from flowering? It hasn't flowered for me yet so I don't know what type it is.

I don't think mealy bugs would prevent flowering. Different factors affect plants ~sun/warmth, water, age of plant, etc. I have some stapeliads that have yet to flower for me (years) ~so remain a mystery. Maybe they want me to PIG them (plant in ground)!

Yes, they are gross...to pick off as well! :P If you have some rubbing alcohol (or get some cheap from your local whatever store), mix it in a spray bottle 50% with water. Spray the evil things! Use a toothpick (or?) to remove them or a hard spray of water (hose?). Check again after a week & repeat if you find more.

Stapelias flower from new growth, so if the mealies are interfering with that it could make it not flower. Murder the little SOBs. Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle works well for me.
