Jordi, I have been watching your recent postings of your beautiful Ario's and wish so much to be able to grow them half as well. Thank you so much for sharing such wonderful plants and pictures.

    wow, so beautiful.

I bought several from a gift shop in cactus garden AZ, 3-4 years ago. No sign of growth. In fact, 3 died.

Any suggestion to save the rest? soil? plant food? Thanks.

    Hi,
Arios should be potted in (almost) inorganic soil mix (pumice, coarse sand, vermiculite, loam) and watered scarcely, which means about once per month in summer and hardly never in winter. They need full sun and heat in summertime. Plant food is not actually necessary, I only add about .5% of crushed oyster shells or powdered limestone to their mix.

Oh, so PRETTY and such dedication! I would have a hard time figuring out where to put them so they would not get water during the summertime but once a month, yet, get enough sun.

    I need a greenhouse!

Lovely plants and you did a wonderful job to make them happy!
