Is my succulent (Sedum clavatum) dying?

A lot of the leaves of my succlent have fallen off and are translucent and wrinkley. I believe that is a sign I have overwatered it. I also looked at the roots and it appears to be brown. Is this a sign that my succulent is dying/rotting? What should I do to save my succulent? I previously have watered the succulent twice a week but a small quantity. I guess it was still too much for my poor succulent. Please help me save it. The picture I provided is how the roots look like and you can also see some of the leaves that have fallen off.
