Cacti & Succulents

In at the deep end...

I was jus given these two cacti. About 3' and 5'.
The last few I had, I killed by over watering. So I've been told not to water them more than once a month. I'm ok with that.
However, I was just wondering, do they mind humidity? Seen as the only space I have for them just now is with my tropicals, they sit only a few feet away from the humidifier. Will that be ok, or should I find a spot in a different room?

They should be ok. Just be careful when you water. Remember; the more humid the atmosphere the less water the plant will lose. Keep them on the dry side so watering once a month is probably sufficient. With cacti it's better to under water than over water. If they start to get wrinkly or 'soft looking' at the tips they will need more water. If anywhere along the stems start to look discoloured and mushy especially at the base, too much water.
