If you have an entire tail that broke off, all you have to do is lay it down somewhere dry and cool and let it callous over. Shortly after that, you should start to see roots. Once you have roots, plant it in a porous soil and start watering lightly. You may need to pluck off a few leaves towards the bottom where the roots are growing.

you can also take all the little pieces that broke off and lay them on top of the soil. Most of them will sprout roots and help fill out your pot! :-)
