looking for adenium

Hi guys,
I've grown different succulents for years, but have never grown an adenium (dessert rose)
Anyone have a cutting they care to share or trade?
I'm fascinated with their blossoms.
I think my trade list is up and current. I do have some new jade (hobbit) rootings.
Thanks all,
Chris

Chris, Cuttings don't develop the sought-after base of roots/trunk (caudex) that a 'whole' plant does. You might increase your chances if you also put this on the exchange side of this Forum. OTOH, there is an Adenium enthusiast (if there ever was an Adenium enthusiast, he's it) here who might be able to help you out.

Are Adenium as poisenous as people say they are? I really don't know, Thanks Jeff, and looking forward to seeing you again. Norma

Norma, Adeniums are poisonous. But casual handling and care is no big deal. I tend to wash my hands often when pruning and doing root work out of habit. It's something that has to get into your bloodstream in a concentrated form to be deadly. It tastes nasty so it's not likely to poison a human. Bushmen in Africa boil it down to a concentrated sap and tip arrows and spears to kill big game. I've been known to place seedlings along the walls of the greenhouse in the fall for migrating rats to gnaw off and build nests with. Usually find them dead a few days later. randy
