HI Howard love the flower and it more special when its a gift. I have three doing the same thing. twenty eight in ny the other night and sixty five now
Smell? Well I didn't put my nose into the flower. Didn't notice any smell in the room. I heard the big red ones smell, I didn't notice any on mine. But mine is med sized. I heard the yellow ones are milder but don't know. When the rest of mine bloom, maybe I'll find a stinky one.
Just a funny ha ha. I purchased a Stapelia 'Carrion Plant'. No ID just a picture. Saw a post that the person who bought one said, 'I like the smell of carrots', so that will be a nice plant. Boy is she going to be disapointed. Best to make sure what you read. Some how I always think of this whan I see the word 'Carrion'.
